About Maria Miniello
Maria Miniello
Jin Shin Jyutsu Instructor
Based in Perth, Western Australia, Maria has 20 years experience in applying the Art of Jin Shin Jyutsu.
Her first introduction to Jin Shin Jyutsu was in 1998, when a friend gifted her the book “The Touch of Healing” written by Alice Burmeister. The draw to the Art of Jin Shin Jyutsu was immediate.
She has a background in clothing design – working with the body and its form. Jin Shin Jyutsu has progressed that focus, to work through the layers of the physical body all the way to its core and then beyond, to the original “blueprint”.Many years and many classes later, this journey of discovery continues. Maria has worked throughout Australia and Malaysia to further the community of students, organising classes and study groups.
Maria is a contributing author of the book: Weaving Complementary Knowledge Systems and Mindfulness to Educate a Literate Citizenry for Sustainable and Healthy Lives Malgorzata Powietrzynska (SUNY Brooklyn EOC, USA) and Kenneth Tobin (The Graduate Center of CUNY, USA) (Eds.) Her chapter titled: Jin Shin Jyutsu and Our Hands, Instrumental for a new way forward, covers the history and development of the Art of Jin Shin Jyutsu, 4 case studies and the start of a potential dialogue for the integration of the practice of Jin Shin Jyutsu into all aspects of Modern Medicine.
